As a founding supporter of the Yathra project since the first Kelani Nadee (river) Yatra in 2011, we take great pride in our continued, long-standing support for the Yathra project.
Organised by our sister organisation ECO-V, the Yathra, which translates to ‘journey’, aims to inspire young people in Sri Lanka to become future eco-leaders. Through this program, participants receive training in sustainability, climate change, leadership, and green living. Empowered by the skills and knowledge to create impactful change, these young leaders commit to implementing a climate-related project in their communities within the next year to enhance the sustainability of their local areas significantly.
Over the years, the Yathra has led to numerous success stories of participants who have made a significant impact in their communities. Some of these successful young eco-leaders include Gayani, who embarked on an entrepreneurial journey in starting her own plant nursery, and Chapa, who has gone on to start her own environmental awareness programs for young Indonesians.
